  1. Why breathing data changes how we understand intensity
    Ventilation reflects both oxygen demand and CO2 production, giving a clearer signal of actual metabolic work compared to heart rate or pace, especially when those begin to drift or become unreliable. 
  2. Understanding ventilatory thresholds and training zones
    VT1 and VT2 mark key shifts in fuel use and physiological stress, allowing athletes to define training zones based on real internal responses rather than fixed percentages or outdated tests. 
  3. What breathing reveals about fatigue and durability
    As fatigue builds, breathing rate increases while efficiency drops, even when power or heart rate stay the same, offering a new way to measure durability and how long an athlete can sustain effort. 
  4. Separating workload from stress response
    Breathing provides two signals at once, total ventilation reflects workload while breathing rate highlights stress, helping distinguish between physical output and how hard that output actually feels to the body. 

Bringing lab level insights into everyday training
With wearable technology, athletes can now track ventilation outside the lab, opening the door to real time threshold detection, individualized training, and a more accurate understanding of performance in the field.
