Show Notes
- Don’t obsess over crank length or fancy chainrings. Jim’s research shows that crank length is just another fitting variable, and non-round chainrings don’t meaningfully change performance. Focus instead on finding a comfortable setup that supports your physiology and riding style.
- Use single-leg training as a secret weapon. By relaxing one leg and using it as a counterweight, you can “trick” the working leg into adapting more efficiently. This simple method can drive big training gains without overcomplicating technique. Small tweaks like relaxing your elbows or reducing weight on your hands can also free up hip extension and reduce fatigue.
