- Looking after yourself first is priority number 1: there is much more to life than your work, your sport or your dream position.
- Self-management does require you to be able to STEP BACK from all the aspects of your work, and look at ALL the aspects of your life that are not work. Do this regularly, weekly, or even daily, to be able to be sure that you are covering all your psychological, physical, mental, and emotional needs.
- Leadership personnel need to be self-aware of daily strengths and weaknesses, especially with respect to looking after themselves. If you cannot look after yourself, it is unlikely that you will be able to look after others.
