Show Notes

  1. Coaching and science are not exclusive – a lot of practice based “wisdoms” are often just confirmed or denied by science.
  2. This does NOT mean that you should just do whatever. Quite the opposite — every single coach and trainer should always follow an “experimental” approach to training their athletes. Try things out and see how they INDIVIDUALLY work for any given athlete.
  3. Not everything is always as it seems. With strength training for example, we overestimate the importance of concentric strength, and often forget that eccentric strength and deceleration abilities are at least 50% of what we do in sports. How can we develop these better in the future?
