Muscle fibre types are quite individual and the distribution of “slow” and “fast” varies a bit more in detail. We all KNOW about it, but we do NOT DO much with it. Now, with new techniques and tests you can start PROPERLY individualising your training stimuli.

Your athlete’s “TYPE” can be a glass-ceiling – at least in individual sports. If you can identify it somewhere around the middle of puberty ( when basic skills and conditioning is well established ), you may be able to direct and guide your athlete to the sport or discipline that works best for them.
